ImpressCMS is available

Oh, ImpressCMS that was forked from XOOPS became available. The biggest feature of Impress CMS is that developers write programs. Any abilities for action are a nice. They changed their wish to their result. Cool!

And, it seems that ImpressCMS is not controled under the foundation. Very good. The XOOPS foundation released a long long announce. Meanwhile, the ImpressCMS released a software. 😉

Like Cube became warfare in the XOOPS community, ImpressCMS became a problem. Someone said that is a political fight. But I imagine that ImpressCMS developers got angry in the foundation that doesn’t try to perform XOOPS development. XOOPS is freedom software, so it’s correct that they chose to develop themselves.

I like anarchy, so I think the biggest miss of XOOPS is the XOOPS foundation. I don’t know what the foundation has been useful for. The current ImpressCMS is a kind of distribution. They had to fork, to only release such a package. In XOOPS Cube case, they don’t need to fork, because XOOPS Cube recommends actual actions.

Some people say that “an organization” is useful. But I don’t think so. XOOPS is a volunteer activity by citizens. Too short free time of citizens should not be used for organization game.

Some people think that the organization collecting people is able to do something. But, even if many people gather, unactive people do nothing.

Hummm…Ok, if you insist, i’ll give a tryand fork Cube to C.U.B.Impress(see you be impress) or something like thatwith a mix of xoops, theoretically trust concept and joomla User Interface. But i could get easily XOOMLA by installing the module Xoops_Hackor Gijoe AltSyst and switch to XC admin menu.No. I’ll do nothing!I like to read “freedom”, “creativity”, “environment”, etc. But, finally, there’s no innovation, and that’s a waste of time!I get a lot more possibilities and fun with XOOPS Cube and D3 Modules ^^Finally, credits to Minahito for XC and XOOPS TRUST PATH concept!Thank you!

It’s the other way around. It’s the Foundation people who tried to take total control over XOOPS, and since they failed, the two members of the Board of Directors of the XOOPS Foundation (David Ledbury and Marc-Andre Lancault) created ImpressCMS. The Founder/Chairman of the Foundation, Herko Coomans, was also actively involved in the beginning, but it seems like he is not anymore active there, even if still very supportive.

  3. sato-san says:

Nuno Luciano: Based on your wording is clear to me now that you have this CMS did not really tested. There is a lot of innovation. And the ROADMAP speaks for itself. Greetings,René Sato

  4. Nuno Luciano says:

Sorry for you Sato-San !After Minahito post, i get it installed.Well, refactory the installer and stillwith +10 steps, what’s the point?(salt and mad use of trust_path?)Then User Interface is the samebuilt by Xoops Mexico and released sometime ago by brasilian members.Nothing impressive, it’s still confusing!Let me remember you that you can get suchJoomla interface installing themodule Xoops_hack which can be removed and keeps compatibility.System is not modular and not “templated”. Hack the core to add some known features already available as modules, seems very… Well, code and security issues still the same as xoops.orgSo where’s innovation? I’m sure you have much to do, to impress ^^Good luck and have fun!😀

  5. Nachenko says:

There’s no real innovation here because everything on these system has been made before by Drupal, Mambo, Joomla or Xaraya. Some of these systems are insanely powerful and insanely complex. My God, Xaraya even has configurable hooks! It’s pure madness! But what? Xoops seems totally stuck, no real improvements in three years, just terribly long manifests, and EXM seems going to “privatize”.Impress is going somewhere. Don’t know how well it will come, but at least it’s going somewhere. Something is being done.Little less conversation, little more action, please.

  6. Anonymous says:

“Where is innovation?”. That release (ICMS 1.0) was made in a month; what do you happen?. At last in a month there are improvements; what are the improvements on XOOPS in three years?.

  7. minahito says:

In ImpressCMS, developers do development. That’s right way. XOOPS is no longer a development project. That’s an announcement project.
It’s the other way around. The Founder/Chairman of the Foundation, Herko Coomans, was also actively involved in the beginning, but it seems like he is not anymore active there, even if still very supportive.
actually, impresscms was started and discussed way before marcan ever even knew about it.there were 3 people who initially discussed the idea of impresscms fork. and Marcan was not 1 of them, neither Herko. but anyway the idea was discussed and then left on a backburner, we had hoped the proposal committee would change our minds, but as we saw it, there was too much hate in XOOPS and we did not like the way the project is being managed. Some of us can’t and will not work alongside DJ and a few other people because we don’t agree with their methodology or ideas of management. and some of us left because of you nuno, and your actions in unauthorised usage of other peoples accounts on xoops.org, and posting with someone elses account that you had obtained access to thru illegal means, and the xoops [laugh] councils complete disregard for users privacy by not taking action and allowing you to continue doing it.so ImpressCMS was again resurrected and at that point, Marcan was asked if he would like to help, Herko was also asked for advice. Herko was only ever an advisor who gave us some information and advice on getting started etc.. He stated clearly from the beginning he was only giving advice and will no longer be actively supporting any open source projects, but he is still friends with people and still communicates.so until you know the full facts, don’t try to speculate on misinformation.as for you nuno, do you ever say anything that isn’t negative in nature?as for innovations? well it’s early doors yet. but there are a few being developed.such things as using html-purifier to replace sanitizing functions and improve sanitation etc.new password encryption (sha256 with 2 unique salts) yes 2 salts.ImpressCMS is actively being developed, and it is definitely going somewhere, we have plans and we have visions, and so far we are proving our words by our actions. we aren’t just talking about it. we are doing it and that’s something even you must appreciate nuno at the very least.

  9. Nuno Luciano says:

Well I promised to not reply to you until you leave Xoops.org but since you’re away now… I didn’t saw ‘foundation members’ refund people or make it clear. Instead, Foundation’s President mention to use the funds to promote the fork. Not fair!By the way, there was no development either while you guys manage or better say “control” xoops.org for your own profit, and that for 3 years. Facts of the Xoops history that you made!Someone had to quick your ass ^^That’s what I made and others.I completely assume my role. Now, it’s a bit annoying and much noise for nothing. If you only recycle forum’s old ideas and xoops hacks from others xoopsers its a way where you still limited. There’s no place for competition when you face people innovatingand developing altruism and true creative freedom. But hey, after 3 years, feel free to add a new lock to the old door of an older building with broken windows, roof and backdoor,…Good Luck and Have Fun !P.S. I’m waiting to release my fork of impress2.com ^^

  10. minahito says:

I don’t know a situation. Is ImpressCMS “perfect fork” of X2? Did the foundation use money to establish ImpressCMS?I thought that ImpressCMS left from XOOPS to get their freedom.

  11. Anonymous says:

@nuno, i would have a lot more respect for you if you would show some respect in return.as for: Instead, Foundation’s President mention to use the funds to promote the fork. Not fair!mentioned? well yes the topic did come up in conversation, private conversation i might add, and a conversation which you would not even know about unless you had either had access to the stolen database that your friend mikhail emailed to various people using the xoops backup module when he hacked xoopsinfo, or that you were using accounts that weren’t your own without the owners permission.. so either way m8, you have just admitted some guilt there, even if it was only thru collaboration with the person who committed the crime. now there’s a breech of privacy right there because you have mentioned information which you weren’t supposed to know. so don’t preech the moral high ground to me.but anyway m8, if you had bothered to actually ask instead of presume and accuse, you would know damn well that it never happened and never was going to happen even though it was discussed. and it’s a fact of life that people say & talk about things when they are seriously p***ed off with someone. but that doesn’t mean they actually go ahead and do what is said in haste.and don’t talk to me like I was part of the xoops development, i was never a core dev, and never asked to be either.refund people? well the foundation is going to be dissolved anyway, the assets will be handed over along with all the accounts & finances to a reputable and trustworthy 3rd party, DJ will not be given that to handle, it will only be handed over to a registered legitimate legally bound entity & not a single person & especially a person that the foundation does not trust. but that can’t be done overnight!!!@minahito. The foundation has neither paid for or used any of it’s money or assets to establish ImpressCMS.the only time impresscms ever used any asset of foundation, was when impresscms team were 1st starting and used the xoopsinfo website for their discussions before moving onto a new server that is not under any control of the foundation or xoops. but that in itself doesn’t mean the foundation gave them any permission, it was xoopsinfo owners who gave that permission, and the foundation does not own xoopsinfo website, they only own the domain name & the server it is hosted on. the website & content belong to 3 people, myself included. yes it is being hired to xoopsinfo Free of charge, but non the less it is still being hired, and that doesn’t mean they own it.so no, no money from the xoops foundation or donations from xoops users has been used by anyone from ImpressCMS and I will defend that statement vigorously even in a court of law (if need be).and yes we left XOOPS because we couldn’t work alongside the xoops management because of various factors including too much hatred, and so different methodology, and too many irritating people who think they know best. so fine, they can have xoops.we want peace, we want to be left alone to do what we want to do with icms. maybe some time in the future we will share common interests and ideas again, but for now, there is too much hate between us.if you or nuno want to discuss further, we can discuss in private away from blogs. This is afterall your personal blog minahito, and it shouldn’t be ruined by these petty arguments or misunderstandings.regardsVaughan

  12. Nuno Luciano says:

“a conversation which you would not even know about”Everybody knew your ashamed plan ^^But you had the xoops keys andxoops users were dependent and afraid. When you write that is true, and then you deny the facts pointing the finger to others We all see your coward attitude. While you lie and manipulate to keep control over xoops.org others have no choice than fight you for truth and freedom. And because some fight you and your smart partners. Today, we can say again – free! That’s Xoops project history. That’s a matter of choices. That’s a man code of honor! And I’m sincerely glad to see my name and nickname associated to people victim of your cupidity and plagiarism. That I’ll fight again if needed for a “juste cause”But that’s me !I like more people than machines or money ^^

  13. Anonymous says:

nuno, you’re just a waste of my time, you don’t listen at all.i never had xoops keys, and i never controlled xoops.org, you are thinking of the wrong person. I was only a moderator till i resigned, nothing more.dunno where you get plagiarism from though.. i quote my sources..a just cause? a just open-source cause? you know of an exploit & vulnerability in an open-source project, you willingly and admittedly refuse to share that exploit & vulnerability with the projects developers, and you admittedly exploit that fact and maliciously use that exploit to keep gaining access. now where is the open-source spirit of shared information there? nowhere it seems..who lied? don’t call anyone a liar nuno unless you actually know 100% that they are lying. you are the same as all the rest, you accuse people of lying but you can’t provide the proof to back it up.but i’d like to know where i lied?xoops users were dependant & afraid? well they still are dependant and afraid, and it certainly ain’t because of us. they are afraid for their websites because they are afraid of being hacked and having their sites destroyed, and you are helping spread that fear because you and your friend refuse to provide the necessary information on exactly what exploit/vulnerability you are using and where, so that vulnerability is probably still present because what isn’t known about can’t be fixed.

  14. Nuno Luciano says:

That was one more malicious manipulation ^^For the lock, I already shared with frenchies who shared with you. And some other issues due to a bad copy and past of Gijoe code. But even if you play the card of Open Source Spirit, I’ll not forget that you use it for your own profit and you’re associated with people who did it for 3 long years. One more time. You didn’t learn what you can do and what you can not do on open source. And it didn’t take long to see you back because you don’t have any self-esteem. Nor code of honor! For the rest, you accuse me for long without providing any proof. While, as you said, I got a backupof everything. Normal, a Swiss Cube is known to be a safe ^^All-in, All win !Otherwise we’ll fightand I’ll quick your ass again.Enough fun and time wasted.Take this, it’s priceless !^^

  15. minahito says:

Thanks Vaughan. I was relieved to hear that ImpressCMS is a pure open source and independent project. There are not any problems. It’s important that developers began actions directly to get back what they loved.I think that the XOOPS foundation is bad existence. But, ImpressCMS is an independent from the foundation. I don’t feel that’s political fight. ImpressCMS is on the right way. People should discuss not ImressCMS but XOOPS, if it needs to do discussion. However, what do the foundation think? They kicked ono from the development team, but they did not write good programs after that. Ono tried to continue his wish, so I joined to the Cube project. By that, we were called “devil” in xoops.org. Oh…, If they didn’t kick ono, we didn’t need to establish a new project and I didn’t apply to PHP OSS. Also ImpressCMS did leave from XOOPS.Anyway, we are OSS “developers”. Let’s develop each project.

  16. Anonymous says:

Minahito-san, with all due respect, you seem to misunderstand the situation. It was not XOOPS that kicked Ono from the project, but people who at that time controlled XOOPS. Now the same people ale supporting ImpressCMS, because the people on XOOPS got tired of their drive to control XOOPS and started to take XOOPS back to the community!ImpressCMS is result of an attempt to take over control over XOOPS away from DJ and other true Open Source supporters, and since they didn’t succeed, they started ImpressCMS. They are part of the same regime and the same mentality that was controlling XOOPS for the last several years. The reality is that the Foundation, managed by Herko, was totally supporting ImpressCMS, because XOOPS became independent from the Foundation. It is the XOOPS developers, not ImpressCMS, who went back to what they loved – developing the best XOOPS they can, without all the ego-driven desire for power. So Minahito-san, please understand that: Foundation = ImpressCMSThe members of the XOOPS Foundatino on December 8 were Herko Coomans (Herko), David Ledbury (davidl2), and Marc-André Lanciault (Marcan). Now read what all three were saying on that day:http://underpop.free.fr/a/a_diplomatic_request/1.htmLook who are the first supporters of ImpressCMS on OHLOH and gave stacks over one month ago:http://www.ohloh.net/projects/10042/stacksYou’ll see that it’s the Foundation Members like Herko and Marcan. So hopefully you can see that Foundation = ImpressCMSand that it is XOOPS that is the project that is finally free of the people who kicked Ono from XOOPS.And who was calling Cube project “devil”? It was not DJ who is now leading XOOPS. After all, it was Ono himself who gave DJ the http://www.xoops.org DNS redirection to a new server, away of the server that was controlled by the Foundation! Ono very much understood the situation, otherwise he would never give the DNS to DJ and to XOOPS.

Vaughan is becoming a “spin doctor” here, and you almost could believe him.If somebody comes to a Japanese government telling it that they want a server space to build a support Website for Japanese readers, and then later use that Website to plan taking Okinawa away from Japan, it would be seen as dishonest use of the resource given them by Japan. However Vaughan claims “no money from the xoops foundation or donations from xoops users has been used by anyone from ImpressCMS”, but since the server was paid by donations of XOOPS Users, then ImpressCMS people were dishonestly using resources paid by XOOPS Users, with the intent to damage XOOPS. And then, what’s even worse, they took all the private information of XOOPS users who subscribed to XOOPSinfo Website thinking that they subscribe to a Website supporting XOOPS, and transferred this personal data to ImpressCMS, and therefore violating Privacy laws. So now you can see what kind of people you’re dealing with – they are so arrogant that they will use resources paid by XOOPS users and then claim that “no money from the xoops foundation or donations from xoops users has been used by anyone from ImpressCMS.”Then they will take personal data of XOOPS users, and claim that they had every right to give this private/personal data to ImpressCMS.Obviously they have no idea about integrity and honesty. Now compare it to XOOPS-Cube. It was fork done the right way, with honesty and integrity, following the spirit of Open Source – taking the source code and then improving it. Cube people never used any resources paid by XOOPS, didn’t do anything behind the backs of XOOPS community, and never took any personal data of XOOPS users. Enough said….

says the anonymous guy who knows jack.
owever Vaughan claims “no money from the xoops foundation or donations from xoops users has been used by anyone from ImpressCMS”, but since the server was paid by donations of XOOPS Users, then ImpressCMS people were dishonestly using resources paid by XOOPS Users, with the intent to damage XOOPS.And then, what’s even worse, they took all the private information of XOOPS users who subscribed to XOOPSinfo Website thinking that they subscribe to a Website supporting XOOPS, and transferred this personal data to ImpressCMS, and therefore violating Privacy laws.
so we at xoopsinfo created a private forum for the icms team when they 1st got started? nothing wrong with that, it was not interfering with XOOPS support..it was hosted on xoopsinfo.com for around 2 weeks before icms was transferred to a new server completely.do i have to say it again because you clearly don’t get the picture. XOOPS.ORG/XOOPS COUNCIL do NOT own xoopsinfo, xoopsaddons, xoopswiki or the docs site, they never have and never will. yes xoopsinfo is hosted on the foundation server, but they don’t own the website either.just because a site is hosted on it’s server does not mean it is owned by the people that own the server. otherwise all your websites would be owned by your server company.how the hell do you know intent? are you a mind reader? are you psychic or is that just your personal opinion? here we go again, someone passing an opinion off as fact when in fact it isn’t fact.. in the real world we call that liableous!!xoopsaddons, xoopswiki etc we never hosted on the foundation server, they never ever have been hosted on the foundation server, they have always been on davids server. so don’t try and say otherwise, and don’t try and claim ownership.we’ve received emails from the council, and although they refuse to answer the 1 simple question, by mere fact that they are demanding that we hand those sites over to the council. why the hell should we? they are not owned by the xoops project or council or foundation for that matter. myself, david & skenow own those sites.. we designed them, we built them and we put 98% of the content on them, the rest was done by other people who offered to help. need i remind you that the council and yourself did NOT want those sites built in the 1st place, you fought us for building them and said it wasn’t needed.. and now you claim that it’s xoops council that own them? get frakin real. needless to say you already have a copy of those sites anyway. and whilst you are questioning our integrity, need i remind you about your own integrity from using a stolen database to copy thosae sites content?at least committed no crime. you on the other hand are committing a crime because you are using stolen database for your own means!!!and as you say take personal data of XOOPS users, get frakin real again.. those users were xoopsINFO users and not XOOPS users. so again you really do need to shut up and get with the program.i’ll state again, xoops council does not OWN or have any claim or right to xoopsinfo, xoopsaddons, xoopswiki or the docs site.. they are privately owned.maybe we should start publishiing the emails from the xoops council in order to shut you up and put you straight on your liableous accusations!!and cube peopl;e never took personal information from xoops users? how wrong could you be?didn’t mikhail destroy the whole of the xoops project a couple years ago? hadn’t mikhail & damaster been taking copies of the DB for a long while, changing comments and deleting things etc.. they are xoopscube users are they not?don’t be a hypocrit m8, everyone knows that mikhail & damaster did that, so don’t try and say otherwise.there is no innocent party in this blog page, except for minahito himself, who’s blog you all seem to have hijacked to try and spin bad publicity from unproven anbd very liableous statements.

  19. Nuno Luciano says:

You get your own place, but you still requesting XOOPS Cube users help without respect and rough manners!? As it’s posted above, your plan is inspired by ignoble motives and I must, therefore, oppose it using the ‘manner’ you understand. There’s 3 years of archives and screenshots of actually ImpressCMS members repeating at xoops.org:“Very Soon”, “We are working on it”, “It’s secure”, “Revolutionary Xoopsphere under development” allknown XoopsInfo and ImpressCMS members that publicaly fight people asking what was going on.The truth is that you have been making money with adds and users donations, baning people and killing xoops.org (just check the links above)Someone told me that two of them even buy viagra to get married. I first full laugh, then thought.. who can’t say so!?But keep pointing the finger to Mikhail or me, is legendary!… if you think that will change the story and made people forget what you have done ^^The only crime is your seek mind and your cupidity that try to kill the open source spirit for a few dollars!Consciously lying to someone is ignoble! It’s a shame for everyone associated with you and it disgrace ImpressCMS and its members in front of all.Anyway, you didn’t learn what you can do and what you can’t not do on open source. It’s not a proprietary thing. It belongs to everyone one!Even to people like you. Finally xoops.org users are free to decide of their way!

Vaughan, —– quote ———-myself, david & skenow own those sites.. we designed them, we built them and we put 98% of the content on them, the rest was done by other people who offered to help. —– quote ———-You and your friends act like selfish children – “if you don’t play by my rules, I’ll take my toys and go play somewhere else” You did it all as members of the XOOPS community, with people contributing and helping because they believed that they are helping XOOPS. You’ve betrayed the trust of these contributors, and with quotes like this above you clearly show that you have no clue what Open Source is all about. The same way as you cannot take away your source code because you don’t like anymore the project leaders, the same way you cannot claim that suddenly the servers are yours, if they have been paid by the community and you developed them claiming that they are FOR the XOOPS community. It seems like “integrity” is a foreign word for you. It’s time to grow up and stop acting like a selfish child taking his toys away.
